Leadership Development & Networking
The Goldie Initiative provides Goldie Scholars the opportunity to participate in a customized Leadership Development Series throughout the academic year.
The Leadership Development Program seeks to identify key leadership topics as well as enhance meaningful connections between Goldie Scholars, alumnae, and stakeholders. The program creates a mix of training sessions and times, larger group networking, small group networking, and a Goldie Scholars’ retreat.
Following is a description some of the types of events from previous years.
August: School Year Kick Off & Mentor Mingle Networking Event:
Goal: Create a social event that connects new Goldie Scholars with alumnae, potential mentors and other stakeholders.
September: Pre-Gala Toast and Pinning Ceremony + Gala:
Goal: Officially recognize the incoming Goldie Scholars cohort.
October: Leadership Development Session #1:
Goal: Facilitated leadership education and training session with opportunities to bond as a cohort.
November: Fireside Chat with ‘Shero’ Karen Case in partnership with REFF.
Goal: Connect Goldie Scholars with the 2019 Goldie Gala Shero Award Winner.
December: Pre-Party meetup networking event in conjunction with REFF Holiday Party.
Goal: Connect Goldie Scholars before attending the REFF Holiday Party as a group.
January: Leadership Development Session #2: Scholar Retreat
Goal: Day long leadership workshop for Goldie Scholars followed by dinner and hotel stay.
February & March: Networking recruitment events at Goldie Scholar Universities.
April: Leadership Development Session #3:
Goal: Facilitated Leadership Workshop, topic TBD.
April: Breakfast with Penny Pritzker
Goal: Create an exclusive networking experience with a high-profile woman in commercial real estate.
May: The Goldie Initiative’s Annual Goldie Scholar Luncheon:
Goal: School-year-ending celebration of Goldie Scholars.
Summer: Find your Chicago CRE Organization
Goal: Connect Goldie Scholars and Alumnae with a large variety of Commercial Real Estate membership organizations in Chicago.
