The Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate Initiative (the “Initiative,” “us,” or “our“) takes the confidentiality of your personal information seriously. This Privacy Policy sets forth our information gathering and dissemination practices for this website, http://www.GBWMI.org (“Site“).

By accessing or using the Site, you hereby agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and you consent to the collection and use of information as discussed below. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not access or use the Site.

The Initiative reserves the right to modify or amend this Privacy Policy at any time. All changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Site. Material changes will be conspicuously posted on the Site. By accessing or using the Site after such changes are posted you agree to all such changes.

Site Access from Outside the United States

If you are visiting the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where our and our suppliers’ servers and central databases are located and operated. The data protection and other laws of the United States might not be comprehensive as those in the country from which you are accessing the Site or otherwise deemed adequate, but please be assured that we take steps to protect your privacy as set forth below.

Personally Identifiable Information Collected

You are not required to provide personally identifiable information to visit this Site.  However, you must provide certain personally identifiable information in order to donate to the Initiative, or to register or volunteer for certain events.

The Initiative may collect any content, record, and electronic communication of any kind that you elect to send to us.  We may collect any personally identifiable information that you provide to us, such as your name, address, e-mail address, zip code, gender, and phone number.

Donations

Donations must be made by credit or debit card. Any credit card information for any subscription purchase is provided directly to our third-party payment processor and software vendor, Flipcause, Inc.  If you elect to make a donation, you will need to submit your card number, expiration data, security code, and billing address.  We do not directly access or handle your credit card information.  Payment by credit or debit card is subject to the approval of the card issuer and the Initiative will not be liable in any way if a card issuer refuses to accept a credit or debit card for any reason. We encourage you to review Flipcause, Inc.’s Privacy Policy for additional information. Flipcause, Inc. also facilitates referrals for Site visitors to online merchants. The merchant referral feature allows the Initiative to earn a referral fee when you make purchases through such online merchants.  However, your use of any such online merchant site is subject to the merchants’ terms and privacy policies.

 

Event Registration and Volunteer Sign-Up

We also use Flipcause, Inc. to manage registration for Initiative events and for volunteer sign-up.  Information required for registration and volunteer sign up may vary by event and will be disclosed at the point of registration or sign-up, as applicable.  All information for event registration and volunteer sign-up is submitted to Flipcause, Inc., who will pass such information along to the Initiative for our records.  We encourage you to review Flipcause, Inc.’s Privacy Policy for additional information.

Scholarship Applications

In addition, if you elect to submit a scholarship application to the Initiative through the Site using GIFTS Online, a service provided by MicroEdge, LLC, you will be required to create an account with MicroEdge, LLC to complete the scholarship application. Registration information with MicroEdge, LLC and use of the MicroEdge, LLC platform is governed by the MicroEdge, LLC Privacy Policy. The scholarship application is a fillable form submitted electronically to MicroEdge, LLC, which then forwards the application to the Initiative.  The application asks for a variety of information, such as the applicant’s birth date, mailing address, educational information, employment information, and references.  Further, certain documents, such as essays, a resume, letters of recommendation, test scores, and official transcripts must be attached to the application.  Such information and documentation is not otherwise collected by the Initiative outside of the application process.  All information once collected by MicroEdge, LLC through the GIFTS Online scholarship application portal will be shared with the Initiative and used in making scholarship determinations.

Other Information We Collect

            Cookies

The Site may use cookies to track the use of the Site and to facilitate and enhance the user experience on the Site. These may be cookies that we implement or third-party cookies implemented by our vendors, for example, Weebly, Inc, or Flipcause, Inc. “Cookies” are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. The Site’s cookies enable us to facilitate access to different areas of the Site. For example, by showing when and how you and others visit the Site, what search terms you use to find the Site, and which third-party web sites directed you to the Site. Cookies also tell us which pages of the Site are popular and which are not. Cookies enable us to implement Flipcause, Inc.’s online merchant referral feature by allowing the Site to communicate with merchants’ web sites in order to ensure that they recognize your visit to their site as a referral. Cookies can also help us improve your enjoyment of the Site, for example, by remembering your contact information and other personal information when you access or use the Site. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can disable this function so that your browser will not accept cookies. Please be aware that disabling the cookie function may impact your use and enjoyment of the Site.

Other Information 

We also collect information that, in and of itself, cannot be used to specifically identify you, such as the characteristics of the device and software that you use to access the Site.  This information  includes without limitation Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, internet browser type, other characteristics of your device and software, domain names of your Internet Service Provider (“ISP”), your approximate geographic location, a record of your usage of the Service, the time of your usage and aggregated personal data that cannot be used to specifically identify you. IP addresses are not used to track a user’s session and we do not link IP address to any personally identifiable information. IP addresses help us determine your geographic location and how often different areas of the Site are visited. We will use this information to monitor and prevent fraud, diagnose problems, and (anonymously) estimate demographic information. Such information, which is collected passively using various technologies, cannot, in and of itself, be used to specifically identify you. We also collect this type of data (including, without limitation, of the type set forth above) from third parties. The information we collect from third parties may be combined with the information we collect. Our web site provider, Weebly, Inc., may collect information about your visits to the Site and other web sites, such as your user settings (for example, language preferences).

How We Use Information

We will not sell, share or rent the information that is collected to others in ways that differ from what is disclosed in this Privacy Policy.

Personally Identifiable Information

We may use any personally identifiable information or other information that you voluntarily provide us in order to provide you with information, products or services that you may request from us.

The Initiative may also use your personal information to send you promotional communications and information about the Initiative. If you make a donation, sign up to volunteer, or register for an event using the Site, you will have the option to be added to one or more of the Initiative’s mailing lists.  You may unsubscribe from such emails by following the instructions at the footer of any email.

We will also use your  information to customize your browsing experience and communicate with you and otherwise respond to your questions and suggestions regarding use of the Site as may be permitted by applicable law.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

Our Site vendors may use cookies and/or other tracking technologies to track Site visitors across the Internet to understand how you get to our Site and, in the case of online merchant referrals, to track your visit to such online merchants for purposes of tracking referrals and referral fees to the Initiative. 

           Aggregate Data

We may aggregate your personally identifiable information, either alone or with other data to create anonymous “aggregate data” regarding the users of our Site.  Aggregate data is information that describes the habits, treatment plans, usage patterns and/or demographics of users as a group but does not reveal the identity of particular users. This data will not identify you, but will be used by the Initiative internally as statistical information to determine such things as user demographics and usage patterns of our Site.  We may use aggregate data to understand the needs of our community of users and determine what kinds of programs and services we can help provide.

How We Share Information

All information collected via the Site is exclusively the property of the Initiative.  In the event of a change in control of the Initiative, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets by the Initiative, all information owned by or in the control of the Initiative may be transferred to the successor of any such transaction and that successor will be bound to the terms of this Privacy Policy.  We may create donor lists, which will include your personal information if you donate to the Initiative, but those lists will only be used by the Initiative for its internal business purposes.  We do not share our donor lists.

We may share information, including without limitation credit card and other donation- or payment-related information, with our web site vendors, marketing vendors, email vendors, payment processors, and other suppliers as necessary to provide the Site and our services to you and otherwise as may be permitted by applicable law. We require those suppliers and vendors to comply with all applicable data privacy laws and regulations. Such suppliers include without limitation Flipcause, Inc., Weebly, Inc., and MicroEdge, LLC. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide the applicable services to us.  We encourage you to review Flipcause, Inc.’s Privacy Policy, Weebly, Inc.’s Privacy Notice, and the MicroEdge, LLC Privacy Policy. These policies govern the vendors’ collection and use of your information. Weebly, Inc., Flipcause, Inc., and MicroEdge, LLC may share your information where it is necessary to complete a transaction, to operate or improve their services, to receive services from their service providers, to monitor and prevent fraud, and to detect compliance with export regulations, and as otherwise required or permitted by law. Weebly, Inc., Flipcause, Inc., and MicroEdge, LLC may use your information to process donation payments, to anonymously estimate demographic information, and for internal business purposes, for example, to better understand Site users, to develop and improve the content and functionality of the services, to detect fraud,  and to communicate with you for marketing purposes as well as in connection with your transaction on this Site.  You may opt out of any marketing emails by following the directions within the emails.  However, you  may not opt out of emails related to your transaction with the Site.

We also reserve the right to share your information collected from this Site with third parties to the extent permitted by applicable law, or if in our sole discretion, it is reasonable to do so, including in the event of a subpoena or law enforcement request or other security issue.  We may also disclose information that is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action in the event of a violation of our contracts, policies or procedures.

Access by Children

The Site is not directed toward children under 13 years of age and the Initiative does not knowingly collect or use information from children under 13 through the Site.

Do Not Track

We automatically collect cookies and other non-personally identifying information when you visit the Site as set forth above. Due to this automatic collection, we do not currently honor do-not-track requests.  We currently do not participate in any third party ad networks

Information Security

We limit access to personally identifiable information about you to our employees and vendors whom we believe need to have access to such information in order for the Initiative to respond to your requests and other activities processed through the Site.

The Site has security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse, or alteration will not occur, the Initiative uses industry standards, such as Secure Socket Layers (“SSL”) technology, to help safeguard against such occurrences. In certain areas, the information passed between your browser and our system is encrypted with SSL technology to create a protected connection between you and the Site in order to ensure confidentiality.

The Site may link to, or be linked to, web sites not maintained or controlled by the Initiative, for example, online merchants. The Initiative is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of any third parties or third-party web sites, including any web sites linked to or from the Site. To the extent that you disclose personally identifiable information to any such third parties, different rules may apply to the use and disclosure of such information.
