Chicago’s Lynn Reich Takes Home Millie Award at SIOR 2017 Spring World Conference in New Orleans
Washington, D.C.; May 9, 2017 – David Hagan, SIOR, CCIM and 2017 President of SIOR Foundation announced the 2017 recipient of The Millie Award is Lynn Reich, SIOR, CCIM, with Colliers International in Chicago. The award was presented at SIOR’s 2017 Spring Conference held in New Orleans the last week of April by Patricia Loveall, SIOR and the Immediate Past President of the SIOR Foundation.
The SIOR Foundation presents The Millie Award periodically to a woman that is active in SIOR, has established a distinguished career, provides outstanding service to the Society and has made significant strides in the commercial real estate industry as a female. The Mildred C. Hanson, SIOR, Memorial Fund was created to support and honor pioneering women in commercial real estate. It was named in honor of Millie Hanson, SIOR, who passed away in December of 2007.
Lynn Reich originally set out to become an accountant, but in 1979 a colleague introduced her to the world of commercial real estate and she has never looked back. In 1983, after her firm merged with what was then Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler, she became the company’s first woman hired in the industrial real estate sector. In 1987, Lynn left to form a new firm that would eventually merge into Stein & Company before becoming a partner at Podolsky Northstar Realty Partners. She returned to Colliers in 1999 and has remained in their Chicago office as an Executive Vice President ever since.
Reich is one of the most accomplished real estate professionals in the Midwest – regardless of gender. In addition to hundreds of completed lease and sale transactions throughout Chicago and the region, Lynn and her team have completed more than 50 transactions in major U.S. cities. The Reich team specializes in industrial real estate services.
She has achieved numerous transaction and production awards and in 2016 received the CREW Chicago Industry Leadership Award. She has been an active member of SIOR for over 31 years, serving on numerous committees, culminating in the Presidency of SIOR in 2009-10. She remains active on the SIOR board and currently sits on the Governance Committee as Operations Director. Lynn was also President of the SIOR Foundation in 2006 and is currently a member of its Advisory Committee.
In addition to all of her professional achievements, Lynn is an active volunteer in her local community. She serves as a mentor for IWIRE, Industrial Women in Real Estate and the Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate Initiative helping to shape the lives of women involved in the industry as well as those enrolled in graduate real estate studies in multiple universities.
